Margo Knight Metzger joins IDefine board
The IDefine Board of Directors has grown to five members with the appointment of Margo Knight Metzger, a seasoned marketer and longtime IDefine volunteer, to the board.
Margo has more than two decades of experience in strategic communications, public relations, and marketing across state government, nonprofits, and the private sector. Currently she works as a strategic communications consultant, leveraging her extensive expertise to help a wide array of organizations, from food and beverage to tourism to education.
“Margo has provided IDefine with invaluable support since its inception, and I am thrilled that she has chosen to engage further,” said IDefine CEO Geoff Rhyne.
Throughout her diverse career Margo has held notable roles, most recently as Senior Director of Marketing and Communications at the EveryLife Foundation for Rare Diseases. In addition to her professional roles, Margo has volunteered with IDefine since its initial launch, supporting communications efforts and events. She is the mother of two, including a child with Kleefstra syndrome, which fuels her passion for rare disease advocacy.
“I am honored to join the board of IDefine and work alongside an incredible community of parent and patient advocates as we continue our progress toward treatments and a cure for KS. Despite its short tenure, IDefine is already well-positioned as a leading organization in the rare disease space, and I am fired up to contribute to that momentum and make a difference for our loved ones.”
Margo lives in Raleigh and holds a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is an alumna of the North Carolina School of Science & Mathematics.
